Fresh food and experience

A family-run restaurant that offers variety of fresh food from quality ingredients directly from the farm or from the local area. Smoked meat, home-made cheeses, sausages, smoked trout or meat from the farm are a must try on the menu.

Kiðagil has been using local foods in its cuisine for years. Wild trout from Lake Svartárvatn and herb-spiced lamb from Bárðardalur valley along with smoked trout are popular dishes on the menu. Icelandic vegetables from Hveravellir, homemade jams and homemade bread.

 

In Kiðagil, you can taste the local grass ale!

The ice cream is handmade by Auður Filippusdóttir at Skútustaðir farm. She uses milk directly from the farm at Skútustaðir as well as quality ingredients from Italy. The ice cream shop opened in 2019 and has been very successful. 15 delicious flavors, which one do you like the most?

In Möðrudalur valley, emphasis is on good ingredients and the mainstay of the menu comes directly from the farm itself or from the surrounding area. During evening, lamb steaks, ham, trout, mountain grass milk, rhubarb pie and much more are served.
